February/Spring Semester Update

3 02 2011

As I sit here spending my 3rd snow day at home, the reality of upcoming music events keeps entering my mind.  SO, instead of allowing the list to continually play like a movie in my head, I figured I’d go ahead and update the blog with the most current information.

Spring Music Programs!

Dates are set for 1st Grade and Kindergarten programs.  1st Grade will be Thursday, March 10th at 2:30 and 7:00.  For students who have speaking roles in this musical, I think I’ve touched base with most parents regarding costuming etc.  If I have not spoken with you directly, I will be doing so soon.  You can also contact me at school with concerns, questions, etc.  Kindergarten program will take place on Thursday, April 28th at 2:30 and 7:00.  We have just begun working on it and the kids are doing wonderfully so far.  Kindergarten program is always one of the key highlights to the kindergarten year so be sure to mark the date on your calendar.

Kodaly Of The Ozarks Honor Choir

It is my pleasure to be taking 13 Willard East students to the Kodaly of the Ozarks Honor Choir event this year.  This opportunity is available to 3rd and 4th grade students who have shown exceptional skills in music knowledge and vocal ability.  This event will be taking place on the campus of SBU in Bolivar on Saturday, March 12th.  This all day event will be a fabulous learning/performing experience for our selected students.

For the honor choir participants:  We will be rehearsing every Friday after school till 4:30 during the month of Feb. and the first two Fridays of March.  Your music will be kept in the music classroom during the course of the  preparation stage so that it will not be misplaced.

Willard East Carnival

Our annual Willard East end of the year family fundraiser celebration event will be taking  place on Friday, May 6th.  This year’s theme is “Carnival.“  Our PTO and School Success Cadre have already been doing LOTS of planning and guarantee this event to be a fantastic evening for all.  Some of the features during the Carnival will be games in the classrooms, prize drawings, art display, cakewalk, silent auction, teacher torture box top challenge, 4th Grade STOMP performance, and much more!  Mark it on your calendar.  You don’t want to miss it!!!!

4th Grade Christmas Program, Elfis and the Sleigh Riders

29 11 2010

Wow!  I can hardly believe that the holiday season is upon us yet again!   The 4th grade students have been working really hard on preparing for their upcoming program.  The program will take place on Thursday, Dec. 2nd in the Willard East Gym at 2:30 and 7:00.  Please have your child arrive no later than 6:45 for the evening performance.  They will report to their homeroom, unless the have a major speaking part and then they need to come to the music room.  All students in the choir will wear nice Christmas colored clothing (church appropriate) and speaking part students already know what they are to wear (for both performances).  Please contact me at the school with concerns or questions.

Thanks,

Mrs. Kuchta!

Lights, Camera, Action!! (3rd Gr.)

31 10 2010

3rd Grade program is this coming Thursday, Nov. 4th.  It will take place in the Willard East Gym at 2:30 and 7:00.  Students who do not have a character role in the program need to wear their Friday Tiger Pride shirts, nice jeans, and comfortable shoes.  Those with main character roles know what they are supposed to wear.  Students need to wear the apppropriate dress for BOTH performances.  ALL students need to report to their homerooms by 6:45 on Thursday evening.

The 3rd graders are so excited to share their hard work with you.  Come and enjoy an evening of glamour and glitz!!  Make sure to mark the date on your calendar.  It is sure to be a fantastic evening.

2nd Grade Hoedown Information

6 10 2010

Howdy!!!

It has finally arrived.  The 2nd grade Hoedown is just around the corner.  Here are just a few helpful reminders as you prepare your student for the big event.  The program will take place in the WE gym on Thursday, October 14th at 2:30 and 7:00.  Students need to be fully prepared to wear their hoedown attire for BOTH performances!!  (You can send the clothes with your child and they can change at school if you would like).  Proper attire can be any of the following:  Cowboy boots, cowboy shirts, overalls, cowgirl skirts, bandanas, braids or pig tails for girls, plaid assortments, painted freckles on cheeks, etc.  Because of our standing arrangements on the risers, cowboy hats will not be allowed.  Every student needs to arrive no later than 6:45 for the evening performance and will report directly to their homerooms.

The students are SO excited to share their hard work and preparation with you.  It is sure to be an evening of fun!!  Be sure to bring friends and family.  See ya’ll soon!
